Welcome to December’s promo spot.
The holiday season is officially here, and the new year is a mere month away.
Grit NW – A Carpenters Union Podcast continues to grow and for that I want to give you my sincerest gratitude. I will continue to strive to bring you quality content that is relevant to your life and career.

With November now behind us, here’s a taste of what lies ahead in the coming weeks.

We’ll kick of December, with a new episode of, How Does That Work?, where Rob Kader from the NW Carpenters Union dispatch department, will walk us through the Mix 20/20 system and explain in detail this important member resource.

Next, we’ll meet Michael Burch, member of Local 1503, and Community Relations and Outreach liaison for the NW Carpenters Union. Michael will share with us what Community Benefits agreements are and why they are so vital in promoting fairness, diversity and inclusion on our jobsites.

Later in the month I will introduce a new segment within the Grit Northwest Podcast called Carpenters Stories. This series is designed to share the personal stories of individuals whose lives have been dramatically changed for the better when they found a career in the trades as a professional, union craftsperson. I’m looking forward to bringing this new series to you.

We’ll also get to meet Steve Kramer, President of the Fighting 635 in Meridian, Idaho as part of our ongoing series, Get to Know A Local Better.

And finally, we will unwrap a fresh edition of the Check In, where we’ll answer the burning question, “union dues what are they? and why do we pay them?

Again, I appreciate all you support in making Grit NW such a success.

And if you haven’t done so, be sure to join the Grit Nation by clicking on the hyperlink in the show notes. You will be kept up to date on special offers and promotions only available to Grit Nation members. You will also be entered to win an official “I’ve got Grit” T-shirt when you do.

Just like last month’s winners, Anna Longfield did from the Local 196 in Fife, Washington.

And the Thanksgiving Leftovers special drawing winner  Kaylee Griffin, also from the 196. Congratulations and thank you both for being fans of the show.

Well that’s it for now, I wish you and your family Happy Holidays and,

until next time, this is Joe Cadwell reminding you, to:

Work Safe, Work Smart and Stay Union Strong!!
