Welcome to the first edition of, Get to Know a Local Better.
Short segments within the Grit NW podcast
designed to help you to better understand the various trades,
projects and work environments of our brothers and sisters,
in the 6 state Northwest Carpenters Union.
Our guest today is Josh Bolton,
President of the fighting 1243, in Fairbanks Alaska.
In this episode we will discuss what it is like to work in Alaska, and how being a Jack orJill of all trades, is crucial to maintaining full time employment as a carpenter above the 63rd parallel.
Josh will also share some of the challenges of working in the winter months and why planning for moose on your jobsite is an important consideration for your morning safety meeting.
